Meet The Thera+Kids Team

Allison Winter Paul

MHSc., SLP Reg. CASLPO

Speech-Language Pathologist & Feeding Therapist

Background: Allison is a compassionate and knowledgeable Speech-Language Pathologist and Feeding Therapist with a strong foundation in early childhood development. She began her career as an Early Childhood Educator before completing her Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto.

With a special interest in feeding and swallowing, Allison has supported both children and adults in hospital and private practice settings. Her passion for this area of practice deepened after becoming a parent in 2024 and experiencing the world of infant feeding firsthand—an experience that further fueled her commitment to helping families foster safe, positive, and joyful mealtime experiences.

Allison takes a holistic, individualized approach to care. She conducts comprehensive assessments that consider a child’s chewing and swallowing skills, feeding environment, food properties and sensory responses, and overall developmental readiness. She partners closely with families to build feeding skills, promote mealtime confidence, and gently expand dietary variety—all in a supportive, low-pressure, and developmentally appropriate way.

Her areas of clinical expertise include:

- Starting solids

- Food refusal and picky eating

- Medically-based feeding and swallowing disorders

- Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)

- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Sensory Processing Disorder

- Texture aversions and oral motor challenges

- Mealtime behavior management

- Parent education on feeding milestones and strategies

- Social and self-regulation skills related to eating

- Expanding dietary variety and food acceptance

Allison is thrilled to be part of the incredible team at Thera+Kids! She is deeply committed to interprofessional collaboration and ongoing professional development to ensure every child receives the highest quality care.
